  • This private practice is self-pay only. This means that payment is due at the time of service. A receipt can be provided that you can submit to your insurance for whatever reimbursement they may provide for out-of-network mental health services. NOTE: You will need to check with your provider, as benefits are plan-specific.

  • Focus on your individual needs.

When you self-pay, you and your therapist determine what therapeutic work is going to be done in session, vs the insurance company requiring a diagnosis to reimburse for services. Self-pay keeps the focus on your goals, not insurance dictates and requirements. Many clients do not have a mental health diagnosis, but rather want help with personal goals, skill building, relationship challenges, and life challenge processing.

    Choice.

You select the therapist that is compatible to you and your specific needs when you self-pay. Otherwise insurance companies arrange a limited number of therapists that are in their network that you are allowed to choose from.

    Privacy.

There is more confidentiality for you when you choose to self-pay for your services, as your private information is never shared with the insurance company or anyone unless your request it, or records are subpoenaed. Only your therapist and you know you are in therapy. Additionally, some clients do not want to have a pre-existing condition as part of their health record, which can impact future insurance coverage, including life insurance; or be used against them in a divorce or custody situation.
